Claire J. Griffin was a competitive rower for ten years,  attended six colleges and/or universities, traveled to seven continents, kayaked below the Antarctic Circle, camped in Africa for eight months,  drove across the Sahara,  slept on top of a termite mound, ate bugs, was stung by scorpions two separate times,  and has taught every grade level starting with pre-school, most recently at Montgomery College outside of Washington, DC.  She and her husband now live in Brooklyn, where Claire is a fan of ethnic food, street art, riding the subway, and overheard conversations.
